Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) has announced five nominees for the IBL Most Improved Player 2026 award, recognising players who have shown significant performance improvements compared to the previous season.

The five players are Sulthan Fauzan (Tangerang Hawks Basketball), Antoni Erga (Bogor Hornbills), Samuel Devin (Rajawali Medan), Yesaya Saudale (Tangerang Hawks Basketball), and Patrick Nikolas (Dewa United Banten).

“These five players have shown rapid development compared to the previous season,” said IBL Director Junas Miradiarsyah in Jakarta on Saturday.

Junas said the award is given to the best player based on statistical improvement from the previous season (2025), with the 2026 regular season as the benchmark.

The selected candidates are local players and have met several requirements, including having played in at least 10 games.

In addition, he said, the average points scored, minutes played, assists, rebounds, and efficiency are also included in the assessment to determine the nominations.

Efficiency is the main indicator because it measures statistical contributions such as points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks, minus turnovers and missed shots and free throws.

Junas added that the winner will be determined through a vote involving all IBL head coaches, as well as 10 media representatives and national basketball analysts. The IBL Awards 2026 will be announced next week.
