The Peaceful Cartenz 2026 Operation Task Force arrested five individuals suspected of being sympathisers of an armed criminal group (KKB) in Nabire Regency, Central Papua. All five were supplying logistics and ammunition to members of the KKB led by Aibon Kogoya.

The five KKB sympathisers were arrested in stages. The team first secured two individuals suspected of having connections to the logistics supply chain for Aibon Kogoya’s group, identified as PW alias PM and PNW, on Tuesday (10 March 2026).

“PW alias PM is known to have met with Aibon Kogoya’s group twice to deliver food supplies at two different locations,” said Kombes Yusuf Sutejo, Spokesperson for the Peaceful Cartenz 2026 Operation Task Force, in his statement.

The following day, authorities secured two other individuals with initials YW (28) and LW (29) whilst they were travelling on a black motorcycle. Both were planning to deliver food supplies to Aibon Kogoya’s KKB group at the time. However, authorities apprehended them before the plan could be carried out. YW and LW were immediately taken to Nabire Police Station for questioning and further investigation.

Beyond securing logistics suppliers, authorities also arrested an individual identified as D alias LA at an entertainment venue in Nabire on Wednesday (11 March) at approximately 19:55 Western Indonesia Time. The suspect was alleged to be an intermediary in the distribution of ammunition to Aibon Kogoya’s group.

“Based on preliminary investigation results, D admitted to having sold approximately 100 rounds of ammunition to an individual with initials SP at a price of around 250,000 rupiah per round. The transaction is stated to have been conducted through an intermediary, a male with initials H, who is suspected of being the party providing the ammunition,” he explained.
