Five Largest Subsectors Receiving Investments in Indonesia in Q1 2026

According to a report from the Ministry of Investment/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), investment in Indonesia in the first quarter of 2026 reached Rp498.8 trillion, an increase of 7.2% compared to the first quarter of last year (year-on-year/yoy).

Of this amount, 50.1% was foreign direct investment (FDI) and 49.9% was domestic direct investment (DDI).

In the first three months of this year, the largest inflow of capital was into the basic metal industry, metal products, excluding machinery and equipment, with a value of Rp69.4 trillion, equivalent to 13.9% of total national investment.

Here are the five subsectors with the largest investment realizations in Indonesia throughout the first quarter of 2026:

  • Basic metal industry, metal products, excluding machinery and equipment: Rp69.4 trillion (13.9%)

  • Other services: Rp64.2 trillion (12.9%)

  • Mining: Rp51.9 trillion (10.4%)

  • Housing, industrial and office areas: Rp48 trillion (9.6%)

  • Transportation, warehouses, and telecommunications: Rp45.4 trillion (9.1%)

BKPM also reported that total investment in this period has absorbed 706,569 Indonesian workers, an increase of 18.9% year-on-year (yoy).
