Five people have died and two others were injured in an explosion at Hanwha Aerospace’s factory in Daejeon, South Korea, on Monday, according to local authorities. The fire service received a report of the explosion at the defence company’s facility at 10:59 local time and deployed 100 personnel to extinguish the blaze, according to fire and police officials. The explosion resulted in five fatalities and two injuries. One victim sustained burns over their entire body, while the other had minor injuries. All deceased were found at the scene. The explosion is believed to have occurred while workers were conducting cleaning activities related to explosives. Firefighters fully extinguished the fire by 13:07 local time.
