MANILA (AFP): A man went on a shooting rampage north of
Manila, killing four people and wounding two others before
killing himself, police said yesterday.
Nixon Tagyan, 34, late Thursday shot his estranged wife Evelyn
Marcos-Tiong, who had remarried to a Hong Kong man, then killed
her seven-year-old daughter and parents inside their house in
Meycauayan town, Bulacan province north of the capital .
Marcos-Tiong's sister Noemi, who along with their maid had
been wounded in the shooting, fled from the house and later
returned with her own pistol and shot Tagyun in the chest.
Tagyan then put his .45 caliber pistol in his mouth and pulled
the trigger, killing himself, town police commander Chief
Inspector Enrico Salapong said.
Police said Tagyan and Marcos-Tiong had no children and had
been separated for seven years. Tagyun went to Marcos-Tiong's
house to borrow 50,000 pesos (US$1,470s) Thursday evening and
reportedly went berserk after his request was rejected, police
said.
