Five killed in accident

SEMARANG, Central Java: Five people were killed instantly and
11 others sustained serious injuries when the van carrying them
overturned.

The driver was among the victims of the accident, which was
believed to have been caused by brake failure.

Witnesses said the van, which was carrying 16 people, failed
to slow during a descent at high speed. The vehicle overturned
five times before crashing into an electric pole. (har/par)
