Five Key Subsectors Dominate Q1 2025 Investment Realisation

Investment realisation in the first quarter of 2025 showed a positive trend, with five key subsectors dominating both foreign direct investment (PMA) and domestic investment (PMDN).

Investment and Downstreaming Minister/BKPM Head Rosan Roeslani revealed that the basic metals, metal goods excluding machinery and equipment sector recorded the highest investment value at Rp67.3 trillion, equivalent to 14.5% of total investment.

The second position was occupied by the transport, warehousing and telecommunications sector, with investment reaching Rp66.5 trillion or 14.3%.

In third place, the mining sector recorded investment realisation of Rp48.6 trillion or 10.4%, followed by other services at Rp41 trillion (8.8%) and the housing, industrial estates and office sector at Rp37.5 trillion (8.1%).

"These are the top five sectors that continue to grow and develop in the first quarter, and we see this trend continuing into the next quarter and even in the years ahead," said Rosan at a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday (29/4).

Total investment realisation in Q1 2025 reached Rp465.2 trillion, representing year-on-year growth of 15.9%.
