Five Indonesian Crew Members from Sukabumi Stranded in Fiji, West Java Governor Moves Quickly to Repatriate Them

Five Indonesian crew members (ABK) from Sukabumi Regency who work in Fiji are believed to have been stranded and have asked the Indonesian government for help to be repatriated. West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi, upon receiving the information, immediately moved quickly to try to bring them back to Indonesia.

“Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. Sir, we are Indonesian citizens living in Fiji and working on a fishing vessel, and we would like to report this matter especially to the Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of Home Affairs as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We would like to ask for help because we have been stranded here for almost three weeks,” said one of the crew members, as quoted on Monday (24/8/2026).

KDM, as Dedi Mulyadi is affectionately known, immediately contacted the Indonesian Ambassador to Fiji. They will then summon the agent to repatriate the crew members.

“Thank you for conveying the information. Although it was not addressed to the governor, we are trying to follow up on the problem at hand, namely the stranding of crew members from West Java in Fiji,” said KDM.
