The Global Peace Convoy Indonesia (GPCI) has released an update regarding the humanitarian mission known as Global Sumud Flotilla 2.0. GPCI revealed that five Indonesian citizens were abducted by Israeli forces in the open waters of the Mediterranean.

GPCI Media Coordinator Harfin Naqsyabandy stated that as of Monday (18/05/2026) at 21:20 WIB, several ships carrying Indonesian nationals were intercepted by Israeli troops. Among those detained are Andi Angga on the ship Josef; Republika journalists Bambang Noroyono on the ship Bolarize; and journalists Thoudy Badai (Republika), Andre Prasetyo Nugroho (TV Tempo), and Heru Rahendro (iNews) on the ship Ozgurluk.

“Currently, five delegates have been abducted, while four others are still sailing,” Harfin told reporters at the Dompet Dhuafa office in South Jakarta on Monday.

As of tonight, four Indonesian citizens remain on sailing vessels, namely Asad Aras and Hendro Prasetyo on the ship Kasri Sadabad, and Herman Budianto and Ronggo Wirsanu on the ship Zapyro.

The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned the Israeli military action in intercepting several ships involved in the international humanitarian mission of the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) 2.0 in the waters of the Eastern Mediterranean. The Ministry noted that at least ten ships have been confirmed intercepted so far, including the ships Amanda, Barbaros, Josef, and Blue Toys.

According to information from the GPCI, Andi Angga Prasadewa, an Indonesian national on the ship Josef, is a representative from GPCI - Rumah Zakat.

The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is continuing to communicate with all relevant parties to obtain the latest information regarding the condition of the Indonesian citizens, while simultaneously preparing contingency measures, including protection facilities and the acceleration of repatriation processes if necessary.
