Five held over drugs

PURWOKERTO, Central Java: Police arrested five people suspected of trafficking banned drugs during a routine operation in Baturaden, a tourist town near here, on Sunday.

Antara reported that the police seized 70 pills of Raphinol and 120 pills of Nipam from the suspects.

Banyumas Police Chief Lt. Col. Zainal Abidin Ishak said the five were arrested when they were under the influence of the drugs, which were believed to have come from Jakarta.

The suspects, he said, were believed to be members of a local syndicate. (rms)
