Five Goats Stolen and Slaughtered in Lebak, Suspect Flees Leaving Motorcycle Behind

A suspected livestock theft took place in Binong Village, Maja District, Lebak Regency, Banten. Five goats belonging to a resident were allegedly stolen by the perpetrator. “The theft involved five goats, consisting of three adult goats and two kids,” said Maja Police Chief AKP Iwan Sofian in a written statement on Wednesday (8/7/2026). Iwan stated the incident occurred around 4:40 a.m. local time. According to him, the theft was uncovered when the goat owner heard the suspect’s footsteps. Suspicious, the owner checked the pen and discovered the goats had been slaughtered. “Near the pen, in the bushes, a white sack containing the five slaughtered goats was found,” he said. Iwan added that a motorcycle believed to belong to the suspect was also found at the scene. Police are currently conducting an investigation to solve the case. “After further checking around the house, a black and blue Honda Beat motorcycle with registration number B-6653-BJM was found, with its handlebars locked and no owner present, believed to have been left behind by the suspect when fleeing,” he said.
