Jakarta — Free Lebaran exodus programmes for 2026 in Jakarta and surrounding areas are being held once again by several regional governments and state-owned enterprises.

The programmes aim to assist residents in returning to their hometowns safely and to reduce traffic congestion and accident risks during the exodus period.

Below is a list of free exodus programmes available to Jakarta residents and those in the buffer region.

  1. Jakarta Regional Government

The Jakarta Regional Government has officially launched the Free Jakarta Exodus 2026 with online registration from 22 February to 2 March 2026 through the mudikgratis.jakarta.go.id website.

The programme aims to assist residents in returning to their hometowns whilst simultaneously reducing traffic congestion and accident risks.

Syafrin Liputo, Head of the Jakarta Transportation Department, emphasised that all registration and verification stages must be completed according to schedule.

“All stages must be completed according to schedule so that the administrative process runs smoothly and quotas can be utilised optimally. Tickets are also prohibited from being traded or transferred,” said Syafrin on Wednesday (18 February 2026).

  1. PT PLN (Persero)

PT PLN (Persero) is holding the “Safe Exodus 2026 Sharing Hope” programme as part of the Free Exodus BUMN initiative.

Nationally, PLN is providing quotas for 12,500 participants. For departures from Jakarta, transport modes include buses and trains.

The programme is designed to assist residents in travelling for the exodus safely and comfortably, whilst reducing the use of motorcycles which carry high risk during long-distance journeys.
