The programmes include the Improvement of Healthy Tourism, Sustainable Tourism, Tourism 5.0, Tourism Villages, and Event by Indonesia. Their development is directed not only at increasing the number of tourist visits but also at strengthening destination quality, sustainability, digital innovation, and community empowerment.
A number of indicators show that tourism performance continues to grow. Foreign tourist arrivals increased from 7.05 million to 7.45 million in the first half of 2025โ2026, whilst domestic tourist trips reached 630.41 million journeys. Tourism foreign exchange rose from US$3.81 billion to US$4.05 billion, while realised tourism investment increased from Rp34.02 trillion to Rp39.68 trillion.
