The development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology has transformed the way organisations work, make decisions, and manage information. However, amid the accelerating adoption of this technology, mastering AI alone is considered insufficient to meet the evolving needs of the job market. This view was expressed by PERURI’s Director of Digital Business, Farah Fitria Rahmayati, at the BRAVO 500 Summit 2026 organised by XLSMART for Business in Jakarta on Thursday (11/6). The international strategic forum brought together more than 1,500 corporate leaders, regulators, educational institutions, and industry players to discuss solutions for accelerating national digital transformation. During a session titled ‘AI and Data Integration for Education: Solutions for Corporations, Solutions for the Nation’, Farah explained that AI has become an integral part of modern business processes, from data analysis to faster and more accurate decision-making. However, she stressed that human capability remains the decisive factor in producing appropriate and valuable decisions. ‘AI can help accelerate the analysis process and provide various data-based recommendations. But ultimately, it is humans who determine how that information is used to solve real problems. Therefore, critical thinking skills are becoming increasingly important in the AI era,’ Farah said. According to her, industry needs have also shifted significantly. Where the working world once emphasised mastery of theory and technical knowledge, companies now require talent capable of combining technology utilisation with analytical skills and problem-solving. PERURI has identified five key competencies that the younger generation must possess: data literacy, AI literacy, a digital product mindset, security and governance, and critical thinking and problem-solving. Farah added that developing these competencies cannot be undertaken by industry alone. Closer collaboration between the government, educational institutions, and the private sector is needed to create a learning ecosystem relevant to future demands. As Indonesia’s GovTech entity, PERURI continues to support the development of the national digital ecosystem through various innovations based on technology, data, and digital security. By leveraging AI and proper data integration, PERURI believes Indonesia has a significant opportunity to create superior digital talent capable of competing globally while accelerating national digital transformation.
