KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated at the Merah Putih Building in Jakarta, “Currently, the detained parties are still undergoing intensive examination, and this afternoon a case expose was held. It was decided that this closed investigation be escalated to the inquiry stage based on sufficient and valid preliminary evidence.”
The KPK arrested the five BPK civil servants in a sting operation in Jakarta on 9 and 10 June 2026. The covert operation pertains to an alleged criminal act of bribery related to BPK audit findings on several procurements in the Muara Enim Regency Government, South Sumatra Province.
