Five BPK Civil Servants Caught in KPK Sting Operation

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted a sting operation (OTT) against five civil servants from the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) on Wednesday (10/06/2026).

“At this time, the parties detained are still undergoing intensive examination,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo, as quoted by detikcom.

Budi stated that the results of the case review have elevated the case to the investigation stage. The KPK will soon determine the specific individuals to be named as suspects.

“This afternoon, an exposé was held, and it was decided that following this closed investigation, the case will proceed to the investigation stage, based on sufficient and valid preliminary evidence,” said Budi.

“Subsequently, investigators will identify the parties who will then be designated as suspects in the alleged bribery case involving the Muara Enim Regency Government, South Sumatra, involving officials from the Audit Board,” he added.

These BPK civil servants were caught in the sting operation related to the bribery case involving the Regent of Muara Enim, Edison. The KPK stated that the operation involving these BPK officials is linked to alleged bribery regarding an audit of smart board procurement.
