Fishermen's Village 'Merah Putih' in Mataram Completed, Minister Trenggono Praises Progress

Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono has praised the progress of the Red and White Fishermen’s Village (KNMP) construction in the Bintaro area of Ampenan, Mataram City.

Trenggono came to Mataram to inspect directly the condition of the KNMP Bintaro construction, which has now been completed. The complex, one of President Prabowo Subianto’s priority programmes, is targeted to begin operating soon.

“Yes, it is good (the progress and condition),” Trenggono said when interviewed after inspecting the KNMP in Bintaro, Ampenan, Mataram, on Friday (17/7/2026).

Based on observations by detikBali at the site, Trenggono not only inspected the condition of the KNMP buildings, but also visited the Bintaro fishermen. During the visit, he was accompanied by the Governor of West Nusa Tenggara, Lalu Muhamad Iqbal.

Meanwhile, the Regional Secretary of Mataram City, Lalu Alwan Basri, said the KNMP in Bintaro, Ampenan, will have a variety of supporting facilities, including cold storage, an ice factory and a workshop.

“We will receive the cold storage, the ice factory and the workshop, hopefully this year,” Alwan said on Friday.

“There will also be a culinary section, a culinary centre, which will be supported by the KNMP,” he added.

For information, the construction of the KNMP Bintaro cost around Rp 11.9 billion. The budget came entirely from the central government, while the Mataram City Government’s role was to prepare the land and receive the completed buildings.
