Fisherman found dead in Batang Tembesi River one week after going missing
A week after going missing, a joint SAR team on Thursday afternoon (28 May) finally found the body of Dimas Ramadhoni (24), who was reported missing while fishing along the Batang Tembesi River in Mandiangin Village, Sarolang regency, last Friday. The victim was found floating on the river surface in Jelut Village, Bath XXIV subdistrict, Batanghari regency, approximately 17 kilometres from where he was reported missing. SAR Bung commander M Andri confirmed the body was successfully extracted from the river by the joint team around 2:30 PM on Thursday. The SAR team subsequently transported the remains to his family for burial in Mandiangin Village, Sarolang regency. It is noted that on Friday (22 May), the victim bid farewell to his family to go fishing along the Batang Tembesi River in Mandiangin Village and subdistrict, Sarolang regency, Jambi. However, he did not return home by nightfall. His family then searched the fishing spot he had mentioned, but only found his motorcycle, mobile phone, and sandals lying beside the river. The disappearance was reported to BPBD Sarolangun and SAR Bungo on Sunday (24 May).
