VIVA/Fiscal Incentive for New Enterprises Prepared
Hatta refused to say that the future incentive to be given is deemed tax holiday.
VIVAnews - The Indonesian government has yet to approve tax holiday for newly-established enterprises. A special team is going in for the issue further.
Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Hatta Rajasa, said the special team consists of the Ministry of Finance, the Coordinating Minister for the Economy, the Ministry of Industry, and the Coordinating Minister of Capital Investment (BKPM).
"The team will be discussing about what tax holiday is, the amount that will be given, and how it affects the investment," said Hatta in Jakarta today, June 14.
Hatta refused to say that the future incentive to be given is deemed tax holiday. "I didn't say that it will be a tax holiday. But it's impossible to grant [the incentive]," said Hatta.
As reported earlier, the tax holiday discourse appeared to public and was mentioned by the Industry Minister, MS Hidayat. The minister viewed that tax holiday is important taking into account the fact that granting tax facilities through Governmental Regulation No.62/2008 has been ineffective.
The regulation stipulates about income tax facilities for capital investment in certain businesses and regions.
