First Volkswagen–Audi Pop-Up Store Opens in Bandung, Bringing the Brands Closer to Customers
Despite a downturn in the automotive market, manufacturers continue to expand their reach. In Bandung, PT Garuda Mataram Motor, the authorised distributor for Volkswagen and Audi in Indonesia, inaugurated its first Pop-Up Store in West Java at Trans Studio Mall Bandung.
‘The Pop-Up Store is a strategic step to bring Volkswagen and Audi closer to consumers in West Java,’ said Santiko Wardoyo, Chief Executive Officer of PT Indomobil Dealership Group, on Thursday (5 March).
Choosing Trans Studio Mall forms part of an effort to reach Bandung’s urban population through one of the city’s main shopping hubs and lifestyle destinations.
Under the 1S concept (Sales), the Pop-Up Store is positioned as an interactive touchpoint for the public to get to know the Volkswagen and Audi product lines more intimately. Visitors can obtain comprehensive product information, consult with professional Sales Advisors, take test drives, and explore the displayed vehicles in a casual, accessible environment.
Currently, the Pop-Up Store features two flagship models: the Audi Q7, representing progressive design, luxury, and performance; and the Volkswagen ID. Buzz, emblematic of Volkswagen’s electric mobility. The presence of these two models is intended to give Bandung residents and nearby communities a comprehensive sense of each brand’s innovations, technology, and character.
Edo Januarko Chandra, Chief Operating Officer of PT Garuda Mataram Motor, noted that Bandung is one of Indonesia’s dynamic markets. The Pop-Up Store at Trans Studio Mall is a strategic move to expand the brand’s presence in West Java. ‘Through this concept, we want to open a new touchpoint for the public to learn more about Volkswagen and Audi’s innovations, design, and distinctive characters,’ he said.
Santiko Wardoyo added that the Pop-Up Store serves as a closer interaction space with customers in Bandung. Visitors can see the vehicle lineup up close, discuss with the sales team, and experience an initial ownership feel before proceeding with vehicle ownership through the official showrooms network.
As part of an integrated service ecosystem, the Pop-Up Store is connected to Volkswagen & Audi’s official showrooms in Bandung, located in the Soekarno-Hatta area. Consumers thus gain access to end-to-end sales and after-sales services, ensuring ownership experiences remain aligned with global standards.
The service readiness is particularly relevant as Ramadan and the Eid al-Fitr travel period approaches. Volkswagen and Audi have introduced the Siaga Mudik programme, via the Siaga workshop operating 19–24 March 2026 for general service and emergency repairs at Volkswagen Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), Volkswagen Soekarno-Hatta Bandung, and Indomobil Group dealership networks in select areas. The service is complemented by 24-hour Emergency Roadside Assistance (ERA) at 14023, part of Volkswagen and Audi’s commitment to peace of mind and safety for customers on every journey.
With the opening of the Volkswagen–Audi Pop-Up Store in Trans Studio Mall Bandung, PT Garuda Mataram Motor reinforces its commitment to delivering German craftsmanship standards through premium vehicles supported by personalised, integrated service experiences. Bandung residents and nearby communities are invited to visit the Pop-Up Store to experience the brand’s flagship product offerings firsthand.
