First Trial for Soldiers Who Threw Acid on Andrie Yunus Held Today
The trial will be held at the Military Court II-08 in East Jakarta on Wednesday (29/4/2026). The hearing will be open to the public.
The Head of the Military Court II-08 Jakarta, Colonel Fredy Ferdian Isnartanto, stated on Thursday (16/4) that the defendant must attend this first trial. Today’s hearing is scheduled for the reading of the indictment.
“The estimated date, we can provide it now; for the time being, we will hold it on Wednesday, the first trial on Wednesday, 29 April 2026. The agenda is the reading of the indictment. The defendant will definitely be present at the first hearing and is required to attend,” he said.
Fredy stated that there are four defendants in this case. All four are members of the TNI’s Denma Bais from the Navy (AL) and Air Force (AU) branches.
“Those four people are Captain NDP, then Lieutenant One BHW, then Lieutenant One SL, and Sergeant Two ES,” he said.
The four suspects are charged under multiple articles related to serious assault offences.
“For the charges, we are prosecuting under subsidiarity or layered charges. Primarily, we are applying Article 469 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 20 letter C of Law Number 1 of 2023, with a maximum prison sentence of 12 years. For the subsidiary charge, Article 448 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 20 letter C, with a maximum prison sentence of 8 years. For the further subsidiary, Article 467 paragraph (1) in conjunction with paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 20 letter C, with a maximum of 7 years,” said the Head of the Military Prosecutor’s Office II-07 Jakarta, Colonel Chk Andri Wijaya.
As is known, Andrie Yunus became the victim of an acid attack on Thursday night (12/3). The TNI’s Puspom then arrested four individuals suspected of being the perpetrators of the acid attack on Andrie Yunus.
The four are known to be members of the TNI’s Denma Bais from the Navy (AL) and Air Force (AU) branches. The four suspects handed over to the Military Prosecutor’s Office are NDP, SL, BHW, and ES. Evidence of the acid attack was also submitted.
