First Quarter 2026 Investment Projected to Reach Rp497 Trillion
The Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM projects Indonesia’s investment realisations for the first quarter of 2026 to reach Rp497 trillion amid persistent global economic pressures. This figure indicates a 7 per cent annual growth or year-on-year (yoy) on Monday (13/4/2026). Investment Minister and Head of BKPM Rosan Roeslani presented this projection during a working meeting with Commission VI of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) at the Parliamentary Complex in Senayan. As reported by Investor Daily, the government is confident that the attractiveness of domestic investment remains intact despite challenging international market conditions. This increase in investment value is accompanied by a rise in the projected labour absorption, estimated to reach 627,000 people. This labour absorption figure shows a 5.5 per cent growth compared to the same period in the previous year. The downstreaming sector is a significant contributor to this early-year investment achievement, with realisations amounting to Rp150.1 trillion. This amount equals 30.2 per cent of the total investment value entering Indonesia in the first quarter. Rosan Roeslani delivered the presentation accompanied by Deputy Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Todotua Pasaribu in front of the lawmakers. The government’s focus remains on strengthening downstreaming to ensure that economic value-added stays within the country. The Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM notes that the current investment composition is still dominated by national strategic projects. The realisation structure shows a distribution of capital that is beginning to become more even across various manufacturing and natural resource processing sectors.
