First Quarter 2025 Investment Realisation Reaches Rp465.2 Trillion, Up 15.9 Per Cent Year-on-Year
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Investment and Downstream Industries Minister/BKPM Head Rosan Perkasa Roeslani announced that investment realisation in the first quarter of 2025 reached Rp465.2 trillion, rising 15.9 per cent year-on-year compared with the first quarter of 2024 figure of Rp401.5 trillion.
Rosan said the first quarter 2025 investment realisation was in line with the target set by the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) for the Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industries.
"The investment in this first quarter is in line with the target set by Bappenas for us, out of a total investment target for 2025 of Rp1,905.6 trillion. In the first quarter, investment that has come in, been realised and disbursed stands at Rp465.2 trillion, or approximately 24.4 per cent," Rosan said at a press conference at the Presidential Office, Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on Wednesday evening.
In his presentation delivered before journalists, the Rp465.2 trillion realisation comprised foreign direct investment (PMA) of Rp230.4 trillion and domestic investment (PMDN) of Rp234.8 trillion.
Domestically, the largest investment came from outside Java at Rp235.9 trillion, equivalent to 50.9 per cent of total first quarter 2025 investment realisation, whilst Java accounted for Rp229.3 trillion, or 49.3 per cent.
"These are very encouraging figures. They also demonstrate the confidence of both the international community and domestic investors in investing in Indonesia, which remains well-maintained, as we all know investment is a long-term commitment," said the Investment Minister.
Rosan continued that the long-term commitment of investors has grown because they believe in the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto. "They see that stability is maintained under President Prabowo's leadership," Rosan added.
On the same occasion, Rosan also highlighted another important achievement from the first quarter 2025 investment realisation, namely job creation over the past three months.
"Most importantly is the employment absorption. In this first quarter, employment generated from the Rp465.2 trillion investment totalled 594,104 people, an increase of 8.5 per cent from the previous year," Rosan said.
