First Phase Ground Check Results for PBI JK: 3,934 Participants Already Deceased
JAKARTA - The Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, revealed that 3,934 Penerima Bantuan Iuran Jaminan Kesehatan (PBI JK) participants have been recorded as deceased.
The data was obtained from the ground check results conducted by BPS together with the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) on 106,153 PBI JK participants, equivalent to 104,441 families.
“From the first phase ground check of PBI, we found that there are 3,934 individuals who have already passed away,” said Amalia Adininggar at the Kemensos office in Central Jakarta on Wednesday (1/4/2026).
“Then there are around 9,401 who we have not yet found; we are continuing to track their whereabouts from the total of 106,153 individuals (PBI JK participants),” Amalia added.
On the same occasion, Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf explained that his ministry will coordinate with BPJS Kesehatan to track the 9,401 PBI JK participants who have not been located.
It is possible, said Gus Ipul, that they have changed hospitals or moved addresses, thus requiring time to locate them.
Meanwhile, for PBI JK participants who have passed away, their participation will be automatically removed and reallocated to new beneficiaries.
“It will automatically be transferred to other beneficiaries because the allocation does not decrease,” said Gus Ipul.
