TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: PT First Media, an Internet network and cable television provider, is expanding its business by developing a TV content provider production station.
The company from the Lippo business group will also produce programs for the First Media channel which will be sold to other television stations.
Harianda Noerlan, First Media Corporate Director, said that currently First Media is still preparing the infrastructure including the studio and human resources.
In order to realize the plan, the company is spending US$1 million in investment.
“Everything will start this year at the latest,” said Harianda, Thursday (31/1).
Harianda explained that this product would be an addition to the 66 domestic or foreign channels that are already included in First Media cable television contents.
There is a possibility that the program production will be focused on news.
“News product is the most salable for customers or other stations,” said Harianda.
Harianda denied that the innovation is a form to overcome tightening competition, with a lot of new players in the pay TV industry.
