First Hearing of MPR Quiz Controversy Lawsuit Postponed Until Next Week
The first hearing concerning the lawsuit over the controversy surrounding the 2026 MPR RI Four Pillars Quiz (LCC) for the West Kalimantan provincial level has been postponed until Tuesday, 9 June 2026. The case, registered under number 335/Pdt.G/2026/PN Jkt.Pst, names David Tobing as the plaintiff, with Ahmad Muzani, Dyasita Widya Budi, Indri Wahyuni, and Shindy Luthfiana as defendants.
“The hearing is postponed until Tuesday, 9 June 2026. Thus, the session is closed,” stated the Presiding Judge in the Soejadi courtroom at the Central Jakarta District Court on Tuesday (2/6/2026). The judge decided to adjourn the proceedings because the plaintiff had not yet fulfilled the requirements regarding legal standing. The Presiding Judge emphasised that all documentation must be cleared before the case can proceed to the next stage.
The plaintiff, David Tobing, acknowledged the presence of the defendants and stated his willingness to provide original documents to ensure the process remains transparent. The lawsuit includes four primary claims, seeking to have the court grant the plaintiff’s demands in full and declare the defendants’ actions as unlawful. Furthermore, the plaintiff is requesting that Ahmad Muzani, as the Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI), dishonourably dismiss Dyasita and Indri from their positions within the MPR RI, and seeks to prohibit them from serving as judges in official state activities at regional, central, or national levels.
The controversy surrounding the 2026 Four Pillars Quiz arose during the final round in Pontianak, involving SMA Negeri 1 Pontianak, SMA Negeri 1 Sambas, and SMA Negeri 1 Sanggau. The competition gained significant social media attention due to scoring errors during the rapid-fire question session, leading to protests from participants. The conduct of the judging panel, which included Dyastasita Widya Budi and Indri Wahyuni, drew criticism from netizens. While the Speaker of the MPR, Ahmad Muzani, initially announced a replay of the final, the MPR RI subsequently cancelled the re-run following objections from SMAN 1 Pontianak and SMAN 1 Sambas, as well as a consensus among all factions within the MPR RI.
