First Hearing in Andrie Yunus Acid Attack Case Scheduled for 29 April!
Jakarta – The Military Court II-08 Jakarta has scheduled the first hearing in the case of the alleged assault involving the pouring of acid on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus for Wednesday, 29 April 2026.
This was announced by the Head of the Military Court II-08 Jakarta, Colonel Chk Fredy Ferdian Isnartanto, following the handover of the case file and evidence in the alleged assault against KontraS activist Andrie Yunus to the Military Court II-08 Jakarta.
“On that basis, we have considered Wednesday. Therefore, for the time being, we have scheduled the first hearing for Wednesday, 29 April 2026,” said Fredy on Thursday, 16 April 2026.
The agenda for the first hearing, he said, will involve the reading of the indictment against the defendants, who are active military members.
He mentioned that the scheduling of the hearing was done after his side received and examined the case file submitted by the Oditurat Militer II-07 Jakarta.
“After receiving the case file, it becomes the court’s authority. We first examine and review whether this case falls under our jurisdiction to be tried,” stated Fredy.
He explained that from the aspect of absolute jurisdiction, the case meets the elements because the defendants are military members.
There are four defendants recorded in the case, all of whom are active soldiers, thus the subjects are under the military court’s jurisdiction.
In addition, from the aspect of relative jurisdiction, the location of the incident near Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, Salemba, Central Jakarta, also strengthens that the case falls under the jurisdiction of the Jakarta Military Court.
“The locus is in Jakarta, specifically in the Salemba area, so it falls under our relative jurisdiction. Moreover, the units of the defendants are also within the legal territory of the Military Court II-08 Jakarta,” explained Fredy.
He also highlighted the rank aspect of the defendants, consisting of Captain, First Lieutenant, to Second Sergeant. With that rank range, the case remains under the jurisdiction of the Military Court II-08 Jakarta.
Furthermore, he revealed that after the file was declared to meet the requirements, the court immediately carried out the case registration.
In accordance with procedures, the examination and registration process was carried out in a short time, even only one day.
