First hearing held in Cilacap Regent corruption case

The inactive Regent of Cilacap, Syamsul Auliya Rachman, underwent his first trial with an agenda of reading the indictment at the Corruption Court in Semarang, Central Java, on Friday (31/07/2026). Prosecutors from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) have indicted the inactive Regent for committing acts of corruption by forcing the heads of various Regional Government Agencies (OPD) within the Cilacap Regency Government to collect money for Eid al-Fitr holiday allowance (THR) purposes. The total amount received by the defendant is estimated to have reached Rp568 million.
