Jakarta (ANTARA) - The first hearing for six defendants accused of alleged corruption related to land procurement in Rorutan, North Jakarta, within the Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya (PPSJ) environment for the 2019–2021 period, will be held at the Corruption Court of the Central Jakarta District Court on Thursday (24/9).

“The hearing agenda is the reading of the indictment. The panel of judges will be led by Teddy Windiartono as the presiding judge, with members I Wayan Yasa and Hiashinta Manalu,” said Central Jakarta District Court spokesperson Andi Saputra to journalists in Jakarta on Thursday.

The six defendants include the former President Director of PPSJ, Yoory Corneles Pinonton; the former Operational Director of PT Adonara Propertindo, Tommy Adrian; and the former President Director of PT Adonara Propertindo, Rudy Hartono Iskandar.

Also facing trial are the former Director of Development at PPSJ, Indra Sukmono Arharrys; the former Senior Manager of the Land and Legal Division at PPSJ, Yadi Roby; and entrepreneur Fiendy Heni Wijaya.

In this case, four individuals have already been sentenced, namely the former Director of Development at PPSJ Indra Sukmono Arharrys, the former President Director of PT Totalindo Eka Persada (TEP) Tbk Donald Sihombing, the former Commissioner of PT TEP Saut Irianto Rajagukguk, and the former Independent Director of PT TEP Eko Wardoyo.

Indra and Eko were each sentenced by the Jakarta Corruption Court to four years in prison, Donald to six years, and Saut to five years. All four were also ordered to pay a fine of Rp300 million, with a subsidiary sentence of four months in prison.

Furthermore, three of the convicts were also handed additional sentences in the form of restitution payments: Donald must pay Rp11.99 billion, with a subsidiary sentence of three years in prison, while Saut and Eko must each pay Rp2.4 billion, with a subsidiary sentence of two years in prison.

Due to the corrupt actions of the four individuals, the Panel of Judges stated that the state suffered losses amounting to Rp93.86 billion. The losses occurred because the corruption was proven to have enriched Donald by Rp11.99 billion, Saut and Eko by Rp2.4 billion each, and PT TEP by Rp80.8 billion.

Consequently, the actions of the four convicts were proven to violate Article 2 paragraph (1) of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes, as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001, in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) to-1 of the Criminal Code.
