First hearing for former PGN CEO Hendi resumes today after postponement
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The first hearing in the alleged corruption case involving a gas sales agreement with the defendant, former President Director of PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) Tbk from 2008–2017, Hendi Prio Santoso, is scheduled to be held again at the Corruption Court of the Central Jakarta District Court on Thursday.
Previously, the hearing scheduled for Wednesday (8/4) was postponed because Hendi was ill.
The hearing will be chaired by Judge Ni Kadek Susantiani and will take place in the Muhammad Hatta Ali courtroom at 09.00 WIB.
In this case, there is also the defendant, the President Commissioner of PT Inti Alasindo Energy (IAE) and Commissioner of Isargas Group, Arso Sadewo Tjokrosoebroto, who has already undergone trial earlier.
The state losses are alleged to have arisen from funds obtained by Isargas Group through advance payments provided by PGN in the gas sales agreement.
However, PGN is not a financing institution or a company authorised to provide loan funds. In addition, the advance payment mechanism is also deemed to contravene the provisions prohibiting tiered gas sales as regulated by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources.
The indictment states that the actions resulted in several parties obtaining benefits, including Isargas Group by USD 14.41 million, Hendi Prio Santoso, and Yugi Prayanto.
For their actions, the defendants are charged under Article 2 paragraph (1) or Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law No. 31 of 1999 on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001 jo Article 55 paragraph (1) first of the Criminal Code.
