First Hearing for 3 Customs Officials in Importation Case Set for 3 July

The first trial in the bribery and gratification case related to goods importation, with three officials from the Directorate General of Customs and Excise at the Ministry of Finance as defendants, will be held next week. Prosecutors will read out the indictment against the three men. The three Customs officials are Rizal, Director of Enforcement and Investigation; Sisprian Subiaksono, Head of the Intelligence Sub-Directorate at the Directorate of Enforcement and Investigation; and Orlando Hamonangan, Head of Customs Intelligence Section I at the Directorate of Enforcement and Investigation. ‘We are informing that the Central Jakarta District Court Registrar has registered three corruption case files, namely case number 35 on behalf of defendant Rizal, case number 36 on behalf of defendant Sisprian Subiaksono, and case number 37 on behalf of defendant Orlando Hamonangan,’ said a spokesperson for the Central Jakarta District Court in a statement on Thursday (25/6/2026). The case will be presided over by chief judge Brely Yuniar Dien Wardi Haskori, with members Edward Agus and Nofalinda Arianti. The first hearing will be held on Friday (3/7). ‘The panel of judges has determined that the indictment hearing will be read out on 3 July 2025,’ the spokesperson stated. Previously, KPK prosecutor M Takdir Suhan said Rizal, Sisprian, and Orlando would be charged with accepting bribes and gratuities exceeding Rp 71 billion. The details of these receipts will be presented during the reading of the indictment. ‘The defendants in question are charged with articles on bribery acceptance as well as gratuity acceptance, with the nominal amount reaching more than Rp 71 billion, including in foreign currency,’ Takdir said in a statement. For context, three private sector defendants in this case have already undergone their sentencing hearings. They are defendant I John Field, head of Blueray Cargo; defendant II Deddy Kurniawan Sukolo, Operational Manager of Blueray Cargo; and defendant III Andri, head of the documents team at Blueray Cargo. The complete sentencing demands for the three defendants are as follows: John Field: 3 years in prison and a fine of Rp 300 million, subsidiary to 100 days of confinement; Deddy Kurniawan Sukolo: 2.5 years in prison and a fine of Rp 200 million, subsidiary to 80 days of confinement; Andri: 2.5 years in prison and a fine of Rp 200 million, subsidiary to 80 days of confinement.
