First Hajj Batch Officials Prepared to Form Contingency Schemes
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah states that Hajj officials who will lead the departure to the Holy Land for the 1447 Hijriah/2026 CE Hajj pilgrimage are being prepared to form contingency schemes or emergency plans. “Clearly, the Hajj officials will be prepared with contingency schemes. That is, emergency schemes,” said Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak at the Pondok Gede Hajj Hostel in Jakarta on Friday. Dahnil explained that the first batch of officials to depart is dominated by the jamaah protection team (Linjam). This team will be the frontline in ensuring the safety and comfort of pilgrims while in Saudi Arabia. According to him, the composition of the Linjam officials comes from various elements, starting from the TNI and Polri. In addition to Linjam, the dispatched officials include support personnel, journalists, and those stationed at airports. “The majority of those departing first are the Linjam team. They consist of TNI, Polri, then there are journalist colleagues who are also on duty and colleagues on duty at the airport,” he said. “So indeed for the contingency plan or then for emergencies there, the team will be prepared,” he added. The government ensures that all dispatched officials have received briefings and training to carry out their duties optimally in providing services to Indonesian prospective Hajj pilgrims. In starting the 2026 Hajj mission, around 400 Hajj officials will begin departing to the Holy Land on Friday. They will serve as the advance team to ensure the readiness of services to welcome Allah’s guests SWT. The Hajj officials starting to depart are those assigned to the Madinah Work Area (Daker) and Airports. Meanwhile, the first batch of prospective Hajj pilgrim groups (Kloter) will begin departing on 22 April 2026.
