The work from anywhere (WFA) policy for civil servants (ASN) and private sector employees ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H or 2026 officially commenced today. Nevertheless, public movement activity at Sudirman Station in Central Jakarta (Jakpus) remained notably busy during working hours.

Observations at the location on Monday (16 March 2026) at approximately 09:50 local time revealed passengers alighting from electric trains heading from Cikarang beginning to fill platform 2. The stream of disembarking passengers then formed queues at the tap-out machines at Sudirman Station.

According to internal security personnel (PKD) at the station, conditions at Sudirman Station today were not significantly different from typical days. A security officer noted only minor variations in passenger density.

“Mondays are usually quite crowded. This appears to have reduced somewhat. It’s busy but flowing smoothly,” said the PKD officer at Sudirman Station.

For information, the WFA advisory for government and private sector employees ahead of the 2026 Eid holiday commenced today. The WFA for civil servants during the 2026 Eid period runs for five days on:

  1. Two days before the national holiday and joint leave for Nyepi Holy Day (Saka Year 1948):

• Monday, 16 March 2026

• Tuesday, 17 March 2026

  1. Three days following the national holiday and joint leave for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijra:

• Wednesday, 25 March 2026

• Thursday, 26 March 2026

• Friday, 27 March 2026

For the private sector, WFA for 2026 Eid also runs for five days, based on the Circular Letter of the Minister of Manpower Number M/2/HK.04/II/2026 regarding the Implementation of Work From Alternative Locations (Work From Anywhere) for Workers/Employees at Companies During the Nyepi Holy Day and Eid al-Fitr Holiday Period in 2026.

“The implementation of WFA is carried out on 16 to 17 March 2026 and is expected to also be implemented on 25, 26, and 27 March 2026, taking into account business requirements and considering the potential surge in return migration traffic following Eid al-Fitr celebrations,” states the first point in the circular.
