First Day of WFH for Civil Servants in South Tangerang, Ciputat Sub-District Services Remain Open Despite Being Quiet

South Tangerang, Kompas.com - The work-from-home (WFH) policy for civil servants (ASN) in South Tangerang City came into effect on Friday (10/4/2026). However, not all ASN can follow this policy, such as district heads and public service officers. This is in accordance with the Circular Letter (SE) of the Mayor of South Tangerang Number 1087 of 2026. Kompas.com visited the Ciputat Sub-District Office to directly observe the implementation of this policy. Based on observations at the location, public service activities at the Ciputat Sub-District Office continued normally, although not very crowded. One Ciputat resident, Laela (38), came with her child to the Ciputat Sub-District Office to record her child’s ID card. “Alhamdulillah, services are still available. Earlier, I handled my child’s ID card,” said Laela when met by Kompas.com at the location. Laela stated that the service process she experienced was quick because there were no queues at the counter, only a few residents filling out data. Meanwhile, the Ciputat District Head, Mamat, said that he and the village heads are in the category exempted from the WFH policy. “In the sub-district, the district head and village heads are indeed exempted. So no WFH,” said Mamat when met by Kompas.com at the location on Friday. Nevertheless, the WFH policy still impacts ASN in the sub-district environment. “All friends come in. So it’s just because they are allowed to take leave at home, those on WFH, after clocking in they return to the office,” said Mamat. To adapt to these regulations, the sub-district issued Task Assignment Letters (SPT).
