First Day of ASN WFH: DPR Complex Quiet, Cooperative Closed, Car Park Less Busy Than Usual
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The work from home (WFH) policy for civil servants (ASN) every Friday came into effect on Friday (10/4/2026). The implementation of this policy is also being carried out in the environment of the DPR RI General Secretariat and MPR RI. Based on observations by Kompas.com in the parliamentary complex, the atmosphere in the Nusantara I, II, and III buildings appeared quieter compared to a usual working day. Not many ASN or expert staff were seen moving about in the building corridors. A similar situation was observed in the area of the DPR RI General Secretariat building. The employee cooperative, which usually serves food and drink sales, was even closed during the WFH implementation. Nevertheless, several vehicles were still parked, including official-plated cars belonging to DPR RI members seen in the basement area. On the other hand, security personnel in the parliamentary complex remained on duty as usual. No reduction in security personnel was visible even though some employees were working from home. The quiet atmosphere was also evident in the commission meeting rooms. No meeting activities were held by DPR RI members on that day. One security officer at DPR RI’s Nusantara III building stated that most employees were carrying out WFH, resulting in a significant reduction in activities inside the building. DPR RI Secretary General Indra Iskandar confirmed the implementation of the WFH policy for ASN starting today.
