Cilegon Mayor Robinsar has emphasised the importance of improving discipline among civil servants (ASN) following the Eid al-Fitr 1447 H holiday. He conveyed this during a morning assembly combined with a halal bi halal event at the Cilegon City Hall courtyard on Monday (30/3). In his address, Robinsar stated that discipline is the top priority within the Cilegon City Government environment. He highlighted the ongoing issue of certain ASN members and honorary staff listed as employees but who never attend or perform their duties. “I have heard of many cases where certain ASN members or honorary staff are recorded as employees, but they never show up or come to their respective offices. Of course, this situation cannot be allowed to continue as it will impact the quality of public services,” he said in a written statement on Monday (30/3/2026). To address this, he urged heads of regional apparatus, sub-district heads, and village heads not to hesitate in taking firm action against undisciplined employees. According to him, employees who rarely report to work or fail to provide tangible contributions should be evaluated immediately. “Starting today, there is no need to hesitate. If there are subordinates who rarely come to the office or never work, just dismiss them. Do not let those who work hard be disadvantaged by irresponsible individuals,” he stressed. Robinsar added that the planned restriction on employee expenditure in 2027 is a key reason to conduct early restructuring. Evaluations, he said, should focus on unproductive employees. “We do not need to reduce the number of employees who work well. It is those who do not work who must be reduced,” he added. Furthermore, he emphasised improving the quality of public services and urged all employees to provide friendly, prompt services without complicating matters for the public. “We must be able to provide the best service to the community, so if there are people handling administrative matters, if possible, complete it that day, do not delay it because service should serve, not complicate the community,” he continued. Additionally, Robinsar appreciated the performance of regional apparatus in supporting the Financial Audit Board (BPK) examination. According to him, the BPK gave a positive assessment of the increased responsiveness in providing data and documents. “Alhamdulillah, this year the BPK stated that Cilegon City is already better and more responsive in providing data compared to previous years. This change shows an improvement in governance at the Cilegon City Government compared to the previous year. I hope this year we can again achieve an Unqualified Opinion (WTP),” he revealed. He also appreciated the TNI, Police, health workers, and all regional apparatus involved in securing the Eid homecoming flow in 2026. He assessed that this year’s homecoming flow was more conducive and smooth. “Regarding the homecoming flow, we certainly greatly appreciate all parties who have worked day and night so that this year’s homecoming can proceed more safely and smoothly for travellers,” he said. In closing his address, Robinsar invited all ASN to use the Eid al-Fitr momentum as a new spirit to enhance performance and public services for the advancement of Cilegon City.
