President Prabowo Subianto is committed to maintaining friendship and good relations with all nations. He has therefore firmly stated that Indonesia will not interfere in the domestic affairs of any country.

“We are determined to maintain friendship and good relations with all peoples and all countries. We do not wish to intervene in the domestic affairs of any country,” Prabowo said during the Nuzulul Quran commemoration at the State Palace on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.

The former Minister of Defence emphasised that Indonesia respects all forces in the world, both great and small, as part of efforts to maintain global stability and peace.

“We respect all forces in the world that are both great and small,” he said.

He also committed to protecting all Indonesian citizens regardless of ethnic, racial or religious background. He stressed that protecting its people is a duty of a national leader.

“As President of the Republic of Indonesia, I am always mindful of the duty bestowed upon me, that my task as President of the Republic of Indonesia is to protect all of Indonesian territory, all Indonesian people, regardless of whatever ethnicity, whatever race, whatever religion they have, must be protected, must be safeguarded, must be cared for, must be looked after, must be developed,” he said.

Furthermore, Prabowo conveyed that leadership is a great mandate that must be carried out to uphold truth, justice and bring prosperity to all people.

Prabowo stated that a leader trusted by the nation and people must be aware that leadership is both a destiny and a mandate that must be carried out with full responsibility.

“Leadership as Destiny and Mandate, which is of great significance for me, is the enlightened understanding conveyed about justice and also about the destiny of a leader trusted by the nation and people,” he said.

He viewed leadership as a destiny from Almighty God and granted as a task to fight for values of truth and justice.

“The more I am aware that leadership is a destiny and power comes from the Almighty,” he said.

Furthermore, Prabowo firmly stated that power must not be used for personal or group interests, but rather must be understood as service to the people.
