Firm! Pertamina Denies Transporter Refusal to Distribute Fuel in North Sumatra

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumatra Bagian Utara (Sumbagut) has denied information suggesting that transporters are reluctant to distribute fuel to petrol stations due to payment delays. The company has confirmed that fuel distribution in the North Sumatra region continues to operate normally.

Area Manager Communication, Relations & CSR Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagut Fahrougi Andriani stated that the entire fleet of tanker trucks continues to operate to supply fuel to petrol stations, supported by Fuel Terminals and petrol stations operating 24 hours a day.

Pertamina also confirmed that cooperative relations with all transporter partners remain sound. Administrative and payment mechanisms for partners are implemented in accordance with regulations and continue to be managed professionally, ensuring no disruption to the energy distribution process for the public.

“Fuel distribution continues to run optimally. The tanker truck fleet continues to move, making deliveries to petrol stations according to the established distribution scheme. We confirm there is no halt in distribution due to payment issues with transporters as reported,” Fahrougi said in a written statement on Friday (17/7/2026).

Currently, Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagut is also continuing to optimise efforts to accelerate the normalisation of distribution through the 24-hour operation of Fuel Terminals and petrol stations, the addition of tanker truck fleets, support from Tanker Truck Crews, and intensive coordination with all stakeholders to ensure the community’s energy needs are met.
