The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has taken firm action by dismissing the Head of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) in Tanjung Kesuma, East Lampung Regency. The individual is suspected of involvement in a case of sexual assault against a child.

This decision was made promptly after BGN received an official report regarding the incident. BGN confirms that the individual has been detained by police for further legal proceedings.

BGN emphasises that it does not tolerate any form of violence or crimes against children, especially by individuals involved in delivering public services. The case is of serious concern as it contradicts the values of integrity and moral responsibility that should characterise every public programme implementer.

‘As soon as we received the report and confirmed that the perpetrator had been detained by the police, BGN immediately decided to dismiss the person from his post as Head of the SPPG,’ said BGN Deputy Head Nanik S. Deyang on Friday, 6 March 2026.

‘We do not tolerate acts that contravene the law and undermine human dignity,’ she added.

According to Nanik, BGN fully supports the ongoing legal process. He entrusted the handling of the case to law enforcement authorities so it can be processed openly and in accordance with applicable regulations.

‘BGN respects the process undertaken by the police. We hope the case is fully resolved so that justice is served for the victim and it serves as a serious lesson for all parties,’ Nanik said.

Furthermore, Nanik stated that BGN will conduct an internal evaluation, particularly of the recruitment, training, and oversight mechanisms affecting personnel involved in the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit in various regions.

‘This incident should be a catalyst for us to strengthen our selection, mentoring, and supervision processes to maintain standards of integrity, morality, and professionalism across all programme implementers in the field,’ he asserted, confirming that MBG’s Service in Lampung Timur remains operating normally.
