Fireworks Display Enlivens Opening of Cisadane Festival 2026
The Cisadane Festival 2026 officially opened on Wednesday (22/7) evening with a vibrant celebration. The opening ceremony featured various local dance attractions and a spectacular fireworks display launched from a floating stage in the middle of the Cisadane River. Thousands of spectators crowded the riverbanks around the Brendeng Bridge area in Tangerang City, Banten. The event, funded by the Tangerang City Budget, is scheduled to run for five days until 26 July.
Tangerang Mayor Sachrudin, accompanied by Deputy Mayor Maryono Hasan, officially opened the festival. The opening ceremony was also attended by representatives from the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and officials from various regions, including South Tangerang, Tangerang Regency, Surabaya, and Bandung.
The opening moment was made even more special as the Tangerang City Government received an award from the Ministry of Tourism. The Cisadane Festival 2026 was designated as one of the 125 best events in the Karisma Event Nusantara (KEN) programme. The award was presented directly by the Assistant Deputy for Event Strategy at the Ministry of Tourism, Raden Wisnu Sindhutrisno, to Mayor Sachrudin.
“Alhamdulillah, the Cisadane Festival continues to grow and has gained national recognition,” said Sachrudin. He added that this recognition motivates the city government to continue presenting a higher quality, innovative, and competitive festival. “We hope this event provides a real impact on tourism, culture, and the economy of the people of Tangerang City,” he continued.
Sachrudin is optimistic that this year’s Cisadane Festival will surpass the success of the 2025 event. Last year, the festival attracted 65,000 visitors with transactions from micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) reaching IDR 232.5 million. “At this year’s festival, we are optimistic that both the number of visitors and MSME transactions will increase,” Sachrudin asserted.
Meanwhile, Raden Wisnu Sindhutrisno explained that the selection of the Cisadane Festival into KEN was the result of a rigorous curation process involving more than 500 events from various regions in Indonesia. He appreciated the collaboration of all stakeholders in Tangerang City who have successfully maintained the quality of this event.
The festival, organised by the Tangerang City Culture and Tourism Office, not only provides entertainment but also empowers the local economy through the presence of approximately 190 MSME stalls, exhibitions of services from Regional Apparatus Organisations, and various cultural attractions rich in local wisdom.
