Firefighting Efforts Continue at Jatiwaringin Landfill in Tangerang

The fire that has engulfed the Jatiwaringin landfill in Tangerang has still not been extinguished as of the fourth day, Friday (3/7). Flames are still visible at several points and thick plumes of smoke continue to billow into the air. Nevertheless, around 30 per cent of the area that was previously on fire has reportedly been brought under control. Firefighting efforts are continuing in an integrated manner via air and ground routes. Two water-bombing helicopters belonging to the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) have been redeployed to douse hotspots that are difficult to reach.
