Firefighters Extinguish Vacant Land Blaze in North Jakarta

The North Jakarta and Thousand Islands Fire and Rescue Service (Sudin Gulkarmat) extinguished a fire on a vacant plot of land in the Penjaringan sub-district, North Jakarta, on Wednesday. The fire broke out on a 75-square-metre area of overgrown vacant land at the Kamal Bisnis Centre.

Kasiops of the North Jakarta and Thousand Islands Fire and Rescue Service, Gatot Sulaeman, stated that the fire was likely caused by the hot weather. According to the report, a security guard witnessed the smoke and flames emerging from the vacant land and immediately contacted the fire department.

Upon receiving the report at 14:47 WIB, the fire department dispatched two fire engines and six personnel to the location. The team arrived promptly and managed to fully extinguish the fire by 15:09 WIB. “Alhamdulillah, the fire has been handled well and the flames have been successfully extinguished,” Gatot confirmed.
