Firefighters Extinguish Blaze on Vessels Docked at Muara Angke Port
A fire that broke out on several vessels while they were docked at Muara Angke Port in Pluit, North Jakarta, was tackled by the local fire and rescue service on Sunday morning. The North Jakarta and Kepulauan Seribu Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) received reports of the incident on Jalan Dermaga Ujung 1, Blok Empang, at 08:37 WIB. According to Gatot Sulaeman, Head of Operations for the North Jakarta and Kepulauan Seribu Gulkarmat, at least three wooden boats were engulfed in flames. A total of 12 fire engines and 65 personnel were deployed to the scene to extinguish the fire. The cause of the blaze and the total financial losses have not yet been determined, as crews remain focused on containing the fire at the site.
