The Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) has announced that the condition of the officer injured by a falling concrete beam at the Jakarta Environmental Office (DLH) in Cililitan, East Jakarta, has stabilised and the individual is now conscious.

“Based on the latest information from the Gulkarmat Service, the injured officer is now fully conscious and in a stable condition,” stated the Head of the Jakarta Gulkarmat Service, Bayu Meghantara, in Jakarta on Saturday.

The incident occurred during a community cleaning activity at the Jakarta Provincial Environmental Office. According to Bayu, the squad leader from the PGC Post, identified by the initials IS, was inside the vehicle’s cabin attempting to reposition the unit when the impact occurred.

The heavy impact from the falling concrete material caused injuries requiring immediate medical attention. On-site teams acted swiftly to evacuate the victim, who was transported to the Polri Kramat Jati Hospital for intensive medical treatment and observation. Medical staff are conducting further assessments, including a CT scan of the head, to ensure no serious internal injuries resulted from the impact.

The Jakarta Gulkarmat Service confirmed that the post-incident situation has been managed effectively, with no fatalities reported. Safety measures were immediately implemented to secure the site and prevent further risks.

Simultaneously, the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-department, along with Duty Officers, managed the damaged vehicle. An evacuation team was deployed to clear the area and transport the damaged fire engine to the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Office for technical inspection and repairs. This is to ensure the unit is fully operational for public service once repairs are complete.

Initial assessments indicate that the site is now safe, with no further hazards identified that could threaten officers or the public. Standard operating procedures were followed to ensure office activities could return to normal. Bayu expressed his appreciation to the field officers, medical teams, and relevant agencies for their rapid response, and requested public prayers for the injured officer’s swift recovery.
