Fire Re-emerges in Tambora, West Jakarta, as 8 Fire Engines Deployed
A fire has re-emerged in a densely populated residential area on Jalan Krendang Barat, Tambora, West Jakarta, where a fire occurred yesterday evening. Eight fire engines have been deployed to the scene.
‘Units are already en route. Eight fire engines have been sent,’ said Syaiful Kahfi, Head of Operations for Jakarta Barat’s Fire and Rescue Sub-District Office, when contacted on Friday, 29 June 2026, at 9:30pm.
The source of the fire remains unknown, with firefighters currently working to extinguish it.
‘I have not yet received updates from the scene. I will inform you once I have more information,’ Kahfi added.
The previous fire was reported at 7:47pm on Thursday, 28 May, and was extinguished around 11:32pm after 21 fire engines were deployed.
Houses destroyed were in four RTs within RW 5: RT 10 had five homes, RT 11 four, RT 12 ten, and RT 13 eight, totalling 27 burnt homes.
Kahfi stated that 115 households were affected by the fire, with the cause still under investigation.
‘115 households and 250 individuals have been impacted,’ he said.
