Fire razes Pertamina building

A blaze destroyed part of the third-story of Pertamina building on Jl. Kramat Raya, Central Jakarta, yesterday morning.

The fire, which occurred around 7.50 a.m., was put out by firemen from the City Fire Office together with the state oil company Pertamina's firemen in less than an hour.

No casualty was reported in the blaze, while the amount of financial losses had yet to be calculated.

Didi Sunarwinadi, a spokesman for the state-owned Pertamina oil company, said yesterday the fire started in the AC-compressor room and then spread to the adjacent telecommunication room. (jsk)
