Fire razes Kramat Jati market
A fire razed 30 kiosks and houses in Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, yesterday morning, creating heavy traffic jams in front of the market. No casualties were reported in the blaze.
The city administration deployed 12 fire engines and dozens of police officers to put out the fire and control the traffic.
It took firemen two hours to put out the fire which broke out at 6.30 a.m.
Firemen had difficulty extinguishing the blazes as their fire engines couldn't reach the back of the market due to the narrow alleyways
Police are still investigating the cause of the blaze. (09)
