Fire razes Kramat Jati market
A fire razed 30 kiosks and houses in Kramat Jati, East
Jakarta, yesterday morning, creating heavy traffic jams in front
of the market. No casualties were reported in the blaze.
The city administration deployed 12 fire engines and dozens of
police officers to put out the fire and control the traffic.
It took firemen two hours to put out the fire which broke out
at 6.30 a.m.
Firemen had difficulty extinguishing the blazes as their fire
engines couldn't reach the back of the market due to the narrow
alleyways
Police are still investigating the cause of the blaze. (09)
