Fire razes food crops

SAMARINDA, East Kalimantan: A bush fire destroyed 10 hectares
of food crops here on Saturday.

The two-hour fire was about to hit the nearby residential area
of Selili when 20 fire fighters rushing to the scene with three
fire engines managed to bring it under control.

The authorities still have to investigate the cause of the
fire and to estimate the losses,Antara reported.

The farmers who lost their crops hope the government will give
them financial assistance.(pan)
