Fire razes 15 houses

JAMBI, Jambi: Fire razed at least 15 houses in Rajawali subdistrict of the city on Wednesday night.

No casualties occurred, Antara reported yesterday.

The fire which began at one of the houses at around 7:30 p.m. was extinguished within two hours.

Jambi Police Chief Col. Saiful Arsat, who was at the site to personally oversee the fire fighting effort, said the cause was not yet known.

He said the fire spread quickly because the houses were largely made of wood planks. (emb)
