Fire of love burns couple

CILACAP, Central Java (JP): A husband and wife's burning
passion for each other took a literal twist on Monday night when
the couple, enraged by excessive jealousy, doused each other with
petrol and then set themselves alight.

Suripto, 43, and Susiati, 32, who have one child, lost control
amid a bitter quarrel in which they accused each other of having
lover indulging in torrid love affairs.

Neighbors rushed to the scene upon hearing Susiati scream at
the top of her voice. They then saw the burning Suripto crash out
of a window.

The husband was found engulfed in flames. Although his
neighbors managed to extinguish the fire, he died on the way to
hospital.

Susiati sustained serious burns. (wah/pan)
